He has worked in a variety of settings, including a Behavioral Hospital, a Community Mental Health Center, alternative schooling, drug and alcohol rehab, in incorporated groups, and in private practice. Along the way he has held some interesting day-jobs, as a Sergeant in the Paratroopers, and as a Bank Manager in England. Richard says, “A General-Practice Counselor must be prepared to help clients address whatever concerns they bring through the front door with them. No two people are ever the same, so there is no such thing as a typical situation. I must be ready to offer a variety of approaches, depending on what may be the most helpful to any unique individual. Together, we can discover, and then tailor-make a best way forward.”
